The Teutonic Spirit... with a touch of Italian & French Esprit

AROW initiated a new repertoire for 2006/07. The orchestra delved into the German musical Genius. Under Director Geisler & Co-director Hryciw, members developed a program that opened up yet another months long, in-depth playing experience that engaged, fascinated and educated AROW players, and led to several concert performances in the spring, 2007.

The orchestra and its small ensembles played works by well known German baroque composers – Bach, Telemann, Mozart, Scheidt, Altenburg – and then added touches of Italian & French influences to season the German fare. The program opened ears and hearts to beauty, novelty and humor. AROW players had an exciting experience in learning this repertoire, then performing it in its spring concerts in Los Gatos, Albany, Nevada City, and Davis.
